Woooohooo! I'm so excited to share that I have successfully made it through my first block of medical school! I intended to share this post right after block one was over, but as you could probably tell from the title, I jumped right into block two wayyyy sooner than I thought LOL

The first block was such an amazing/busy whirlwind of a start to this whole thing called med school. I found my study groove, was voted on to the Medical Student Council, participated in really cool forums, lunch talks, and interest group meetings, and got to know my inspiring/funny/wonderful classmates. I also learned A LOT of new things! Along with regular lectures on topics like immunology, cancer, and genetics (this block's theme was "foundations of medicine"), I also learned phlebotomy, how to take blood pressure, perform a HEENT exam, take a patient's history, and so much more.

Like I mentioned, I'm already a few weeks into my second block (cardiac-renal-respiratory) and things picked up right away. With everything I have going on, publishing blog posts regularly is much more of a challenge, but you should definitely check me out on instagram and twitter in the meantime (I'm on probably more than I should be). Here's some of my favorite snippets from the first few months:
